It seems like an enjoyable book, but it isn’t

By Georgia (Ýzmir, Turkey)
Title: On the Brightside, I’m Now the Girlfriend of a Sex God
Author: Louise Rennison
Publisher: Piccadilly Pres Ltd.
Date of Publishing: 2002
Number of Pages: 233
This book was sequel to the 2001 Michael L. Printz Honor Book. In spite of that, I don’t think that it isn’t a kind of book that everyone likes. Nothing interesting happens in this book and it never catches the reader’s attention.
“I’ve got a plan. It involves the two “osities”. They are “maturiosity” and “glaciosity”. Firstly i have to prove the SG that i am very sophis and grown up” (91). The book’s usage of vocabluary is attractive but it doesn’t provide the reader to imagine things in her mind. As you read this quote, you will think or imagine different things about the rest of the book. But it never happens in the way that you think and it dissappoints you.
When you read the title of the book it seems very unusual, different and enjoyable book. But the whole book is about a girl’s, “Georgia Nicolson”, thoughts about his ex-boyfriend that she describes him as a “Sex God” and her efforts to get him back.
The book is like a diary, it always gives the day and the time. But it never gives the details about the things that happened. Because of that, the reader can not get enough information and catch up the things that happened in the book. It is not successful with taking the reader’s attention so i don’t recommend you to read this book.

SHOWING THE UNPREDICTABLE FACE OF CSI!!

By: Ounsal (Izmir, Turkey)
Title: The Forensic Mission
Author: E.K Hein
Publisher: Wiley Publishing, Inc
Date of Publishing: 2007
Number of pages: 256

First of all, if you are interested in Crime Scene Investigation, you should definitely add this book to your shelf!!! Because, this book perfectly mentions the real face of crime in a way which is totally different than the way in CSI shows. I’m absolutely sure that it is FANTASTIC! I’m sure that when the readers finish reading The Forensic Mission they will not easily like the other books. They’ll see that nothing about CSI is easy as in the shows that we watch on TV.

This book is good at confusing the readers’ thoughts and also shocking them by the use of different kind of events having unpredictable connections between each other.

On the other hand, The Forensic Mission improves the readers’ interpreting and thinking ability. This is another important property of that interesting novel. The book has two parts. At the beginning of the chapters, some scientific information about CSI is given, which are definitely different than you expect, like decomposing dudes, morphing maggots, bloodstain evidence, evidence collecting methods, autopsy, gunshot wounds etc. and then the story is told. By this point the reader has the chance of interpreting the story according to real information about CSI.

In addition to this, the author entertains, shocks and frightens the audience and gives messages about the tragic results of doing illegal works by telling the story of two teenager boys who are really successful and innocent. However, joining illegal works for some money causes their tragic end.

As a result, if you read this book you will definitely think that you improved yourself. You’ll see the difference between CSI shows and real life with real victims and real investigators. Your point of view about life will change and you will see that, every human being can do everything which you can not even think about!!!!!!
